Hi, I'm Kellie
I'm glad you're here
Starting therapy can feel like a surprisingly vulnerable thing to do.
You may have spent a long time managing things on your own. Maybe you're used to being the person everyone else comes to when they need help. Maybe you've been telling yourself that things aren't that bad—or that you should be able to handle them.
And yet, here you are.
I think that's worth paying attention to.
My Style
I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine partnership.
You know your life better than anyone else. My role isn't to tell you what you should do. It's to help you slow things down, understand yourself and your relationships more clearly, recognize patterns that may no longer be serving you, and develop new ways of responding.
We'll talk about the difficult things. We'll look honestly at what's happening.
But I don't believe therapy has to feel heavy all the time.
I like to balance depth and intensity with gentleness, warmth, and a little humor.
There may be tears. There may be uncomfortable conversations. There may also be laughter and moments of genuine relief.
All of that belongs here.
What you can expect from me
Compassion without judgment
You don't have to edit yourself to make yourself more acceptable in therapy.
Curiosity.
We'll get curious about what's happening rather than simply trying to push uncomfortable thoughts or feelings away.
Practical tools.
Insight is important, but I also want you to leave therapy with skills you can actually use in your everyday life.
Honesty.
I'll meet you where you are while also gently challenging you when I think it might help.
Collaboration.
This is your therapy. We'll figure out together what is most useful for you.
My clinical approach
My work draws from several therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based approaches, and psychodynamic therapy.
My clinical training includes Level 2 training in the Gottman Method, which has deepened my understanding of relationships, communication, and the ways our connections with others can influence our well-being.
I am also committed to providing therapy that is trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and client-centered.
Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. We'll use the approaches and tools that make sense for you and your goals.
I don't believe you need to arrive in therapy with everything figured out
You can come exactly as you are.
You can be unsure.
You can be frustrated.
You can be overwhelmed.
You can even tell me, "I don't know what I need. I just know I can't keep doing this."
We can start there.
Beyond the therapy space
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and our two Labradoodles, finding an excuse to listen to 90s music, and drinking a good cup of coffee—morning or night! I’m happiest near the ocean, whether it’s a long walk on the beach or simply sitting near the water. There’s just something about it that makes me feel at home.
